Introductory Session on the New Web-Based Online Reporting System & Announcement of the New Reporting System Implementation Plan (13 August 2025)

According to Section 10(a) of the 2014 Anti-Money Laundering Law, the Financial Intelligence Unit shall issue, from time to time, the reporting forms, contents of the reports, procedures that should be conducted after reporting and methods of reporting which should be conducted by the reporting organizations. Accordingly, the FIU has already undertaken the necessary work to transition from the current system of reporting via Gmail to a Web-Based Reporting System.

Prior to officially announcing the commencement of the completed Web-Based Reporting System, an introductory briefing and demonstration session was held with ten private banks on 13th August 2025 at the Meeting Hall of the Myanmar Financial Intelligence Unit Office in Nay Pyi Taw. The session aimed to introduce the system, solicit final recommendations, and gather feedback, which was successfully obtained.

Once suitable and appropriate recommendations from the feedback received are incorporated and the system is adjusted accordingly, a launch ceremony to officially announce the transition to the Web-Based Reporting System will be held. All Reporting Institutions from the banking and financial sectors will be invited to this ceremony. This is to further provide advance notice that following the launch ceremony, a Testing Period will commence.
